Should make for a pretty easy day, and a nice drive. We did a 16-hour day after Thanksgiving last year. Now that was a long day of driving, not to mention with three kids in the car.

Thank God (or the gods, your preference) you got to travel at night. Out of all of the Plains States (and I traveled all of the ones that I consider in that group), Kansas is by far the flattest and most boring. I'm from Nebraska and live in SD, so that is actually saying something. You missed absolutely nothing important on your night drive...and probably saved yourself from flying monkeys and witches while you were at it.
